Major Changes

Yesterday morning I changed Keegan's crib into a toddler bed. I wanted to do it before his nap. That way if I had to fight with him, it was for his afternoon nap and not at 9 o'clock at night.

So naptime comes around, I kiss him lay him down and cover him with a blanket. Then go outside the door and peep through the crack in the door.

He gets up right away. I go in, lay him down again and leave. He gets right up again. One more time, I go in and lay him back down. I'm still peeking through the door, and I can see him sitting on the edge of the bed, not touching the floor. He covers his eyes (because if he can't see me, I can't see him .. right?!) and slowly scoots towards the edge of the bed. But he doesn't get off! About 2 minutes later, he lays back down and doesn't get up again!! He falls asleep and sleeps two hours without getting up again. WOOT!

So then nighttime comes and I just know this is gonna take awhile. We give him his bath, get him ready for bed and lay him in his bed. I sit with the baby monitor on, ready to spring at the first sound of playing. It never comes. I go to check on him about 15 minutes after we put him to bed and he is still in his bed and he's sleeping!!!

When I first show him his new bed. Climbing in and out and in and out....

Blue Ribbon!!

For the second year in a row, I entered my Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies into the state fair competition. I didn't think I would get anything, but it's always fun to enter. Plus, you get discounted admission tickets.

Yesterday was the first day of the fair, so of course as soon as we walk in the gates, I make a B line for the building that houses the winning entries.

It took awhile to find, but I finally found the Oatmeal Cookies section. And lookie at that!! My cookie is there!!! AND it's on a blue plate! I had to double check because they put the places according to plate color.

Sweet howdy I got first place!!!

We are finished!!

Because of my WONDERFUL mom, we finally have a fence around our backyard. With a gate and everything. My mom supplied us with everything we needed. We are so excited. Now Keegan and the dog can run around. It will make it alot easier for us too. Since we won't have to be two steps behind Keegan whenever he is outside so that he doesn't run into traffic, or decide to take a dip in the water hazard on the golf course.

It also makes me feel better that no one can come in our backyard. Should make for alot of extra golf balls!!

Thanks again mom, we all really appreciate it more than you know.

Our 4th of July Weekend

Keegan was ready to start the weekend off early! We went to Chad's office Thursday afternoon. About 4:45, Keegan was ready for his long weekend. He stood by the door, waved and said Bye-bye for about 10 minutes.

On Friday, we spent most of the day being lazy. We were originally planning on going over to a friends house, but they welcomed they're new baby boy on Tuesday, so they were a little busy ;)
We had a BBQ at our house. My mom, one of my brothers and a friend of his came over.

After dinner, we headed over to my sister's inlaws house. They live up on a hill with a great view of the fireworks.

Before the park started their show, we set off several of the fireworks we had. And we shot off what we had left after.

Keegan really liked most of the fireworks. He wasn't too happy with the loud ones though.

We had a great weekend!!
