Can you tell?

Christmas is over. We had alot of fun. Keegan loves his new presents and toys. Sometime soon we'll have to go through his toy box and get rid of some things and pack other things away.

Getting ready for Christmas

It's been awhile (AGAIN) since I last posted. We have been busy getting ready for Christmas. So instead of one big Christmas post, I'll show you what we've been up to so far, and soon I'll share Christmas day pictures.

Here are some results from a photo session we did so that we could put pictures on our Christmas cards.

Happy Halloween!

Keegan TOTALLY understood the concept of Trick or Treating. I was surprised. Our downtown shopping district closes all the streets down and the merchants hand out candy. I gave Keegan his little basket and he walked around swinging it until we got to the first store. That's all it took for him to understand that they put CANDY in that basket! By the end, he was holding up his basket for everyone.LOL

After that we went to Jeff and Tanya's neighborhood to go Trick or Treating with his cousin Chloe. By now, he was running from door to door, knocking, grabbing a peice of candy, then taking off to the next one. I was totally expecting him to grab handfuls of candy at each door, but he did great. He'd take one candy, drop it in his basket, then run to the next door to ring the door bell.

We had alot of fun.

Subtle

So I put Keegan down for a nap. About 15 minutes later, I heard a thud from his room. I go in to check on him and find this.....

Guess he wasn't quite ready for his nap yet.

Pumpkin Patch

We went a little early this year, but Chad didn't have practice as long as he usually does on Saturday so we decided to go.

So it's been awhile

We've had a VERY busy month. I'll try to catch everyone up.

The first, and most exciting, is Keegan is expecting a new sibling to come along in May!

This picture comes with two things. First off, he loves his cake. Second that poor little scab on his nose is all his mommy's fault. She turned her ankle on the sidewalk and because she was holding Keegans hand, he went down with her. His mommy feels VERY bad. But he is all healed now.

Next (and again with the nose) we have Keegan and his very first of many football lunches. The afternoon before every game the entire football team meets at a local restaurant for a nice big lunch.

Then it was off to a friends birthday party. A pirate party! Keegan's seems to be not so fond of them pirates, much to his grandpa's dismay, who I think used to be a pirate in a past life. That HAS to be where he gets all those pirate jokes.

And Keegan has discovered that everything sounds totally different underwater. He spends most of his bathtimes submerged and yelling.

And just a quick preview of Keegan's birthday present. While at a friends house, Keegan discovered the glory that is the bounce house. He had so much fun that we started looking into renting one for his 2nd birthday party. After alot of research we found that we could buy a brand new one for just a little more money that it was to rent one for four hours. So he got to try out his new toy before it went into hiding until his birthday party.

Well I guess that's all for now. I'll try to keep the blog a little more current LOL. Keep an eye out for Halloween and Pumpkin Patch pictures!

Drive By's

If you happen to drive by our house and see a little boy in the window, don't worry, that's just Keegan waving at all the cars.

Croquet!!

We went over to Chad's uncle's house for a Labor Day BBQ. He has a croquet set. Keegan was infatuated with the balls. Anything he can throw is good to him. Then he saw the mallets. WOOHOO! After swinging the mallet around like a samurai sword, Chad tried to show him how to use the mallet to hit the ball. Keegan had so much fun.

Getting the hang of it all on his own

On the attack

Then, while they were playing, a neighbor started up his VW Bug and Keegan took off to see where all the noise was coming from.

Be wary when it's quiet!

I was in the bathroom throwing my hair up, getting ready for work. I was surprised that Keegan didn't follow me into the bathroom like he usually does. But I figured I shouldn't complain since he wasn't trying to wash his hands in the toilet while I was trying to get ready for work.

When I walked out into the living room I discovered why he was so content to leave me alone in the bathroom.

Apparently our little chef thought that our dining room table, chairs and the carpet underneath weren't seasoned with enough salt.

New sleeping habits

Well with a new open bed comes new places to sleep. Keegan has started sleeping on the floor. We put him to bed and when we go to check on him later, he's happily sleeping on the carpet. Most of the time it's right next to his bedroom door. There is about an inch gap between the floor and the bottom of the door. So the little guy falls asleep peering under the door waiting for someone to walk by.

Sometimes he moves several times a night. So he may be sleep walking too.

Major Changes

Yesterday morning I changed Keegan's crib into a toddler bed. I wanted to do it before his nap. That way if I had to fight with him, it was for his afternoon nap and not at 9 o'clock at night.

So naptime comes around, I kiss him lay him down and cover him with a blanket. Then go outside the door and peep through the crack in the door.

He gets up right away. I go in, lay him down again and leave. He gets right up again. One more time, I go in and lay him back down. I'm still peeking through the door, and I can see him sitting on the edge of the bed, not touching the floor. He covers his eyes (because if he can't see me, I can't see him .. right?!) and slowly scoots towards the edge of the bed. But he doesn't get off! About 2 minutes later, he lays back down and doesn't get up again!! He falls asleep and sleeps two hours without getting up again. WOOT!

So then nighttime comes and I just know this is gonna take awhile. We give him his bath, get him ready for bed and lay him in his bed. I sit with the baby monitor on, ready to spring at the first sound of playing. It never comes. I go to check on him about 15 minutes after we put him to bed and he is still in his bed and he's sleeping!!!

When I first show him his new bed. Climbing in and out and in and out....

SUCCESS!!!
